A Legend
A legend is a traditional story, sometimes popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated. Legends often feature heroic figures and extraordinary events, passed down through generations. They typically have some basis in historical fact, unlike myths which are purely symbolic. They are often more localized than myths.
