Dialectic is a method of argument for resolving disagreement that has been central to philosophy since antiquity. It involves a dialogue between two or more people holding different viewpoints, who wish to establish truth through reasoned argumentation. Hegel later developed a concept of dialectic as a process of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis.
