Ύβρις
Excessive pride or dangerous overconfidence, often in defiance of the gods, leading to nemesis (retribution). In Greek tragedy, hubris is a common fatal flaw that brings about the ruin of the protagonist. It was considered a serious transgression in ancient Greek culture.
